P!nk just said exactly what every parent everywhere is thinking

Louise Carroll

We just can’t get enough of the 38-year-old singer-songwriter that is Pink! She always manages to pull our heart-strings.

Constantly advocating for good, and striking positivity into every individual, especially young girls, she’s pretty much impossible not to love. Not only is she famed for her incredible talents but also due to the fact she has refused to change her body, values or personality for fame.

The singer recently released her brand-new album Beautiful Trauma and while she was at its Apple premier named On the Record: Pink, she laid bare the main fear she has for her kids – daughter Willow (6) and son Jameson (10 months).

The fear? Self-esteem. Because it’s just so key.

According to Us Weekly, she said;

“Because of what I went through, being a girl and being a kid and being a little bit different from everyone else, my biggest fear is self-esteem for my kids.”

She went on to explain that she lacked self-esteem in her younger years. She said;

“I treated myself really badly. I didn’t expect other people to treat me with respect and I didn’t demand it and I didn’t have boundaries and I gave my power away over and over and over.”

She went on to explain how she had to learn how to love and appreciate herself, what to love herself for, and how to demand respect from others.

“I see my 6-year-old and I’m like, ‘I just want to give you the shit that I already know.’ But you can’t borrow somebody else’s knowledge, you have to buy your own. I know that too. It sucks when you’re a mom. I don’t want my kids to buy their own knowledge, I just want them to swallow mine.”

And boom! She just summed up what goes through everyone’s mind. Oh, how easy life would be if we could truly pass on our life lessons to our little ones.
