Three tips parents often use to keep their children believing in Santa Claus

Cathy Donohue

Worth a try.

It’s always sad when your little ones stop believing in the magic of Santa Claus and this is one tradition that parents try to keep going as long as possible.

These days, they start realising that the man in the red suit is made-up long before we want them to and as parents, it’s all about inventing new ways of keeping them interested.

Kids share stories at school or they see something on television and before long, the game is up and they’ve grown up before your very eyes.

However, there are a few tricks you can employ to ensure that you protect this special Christmas tradition for as long as possible.

According to Pop Sugar, an online survey conducted by Zulily established three tips mothers and fathers swear by to keep their kids believing in good old Kris Kringle.

One is eating the treats left out for Santa Claus (although the carrot for Rudolph is often neglected, FAIL) and this is the most popular, with 88 percent of parents getting involved. No surprises here as we remember that one from when we were kids.

Another trick, followed by 40 percent of parents, is to write a letter from the man himself, often left in the house for the children to find on Christmas morning.

Finally, with this one used by sixty-three percent of mums and dads, try using different wrapping paper for Santa’s presents and not the same pattern as parent presents.
