Police department offers clever tip for days when your kids will be out in a crowd

Katie Mythen-Lynch

With summer in full swing, almost every weekend offers a new opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy a festival, fun run or theme park.

Taking young children to crowded events also presents some safety issues however, something a California Police Department cleverly attempted to highlight in a Facebook post.

The Clovis Police Department posted a special #TipOfTheDay, offering parents some advice to heed before heading out en famille.

“Taking your young child to a big event, theme park, or other busy location? Write your phone number on their wrist and cover it with liquid band aid in case you get separated.” reads the post.

“Also, take a photo of them using your cell phone the morning of the event so you have their clothing, hair style, and up to date photo. ‪#‎BePrepared‬.”

The post has obviously struck a chord with mums and dads, who shared it almost 15,000 times.
