When I was a kid I always wanted to go to Disney Land.
I would stare at the adverts on TV with Mickey Mouse and all the Disney princesses and think one day I’ll be there. I never did get to go as a child so you would think that I would be dying to go with my own children. Nope!
Now I realise why a family trip was never booked to Disney Land while I was growing up. The idea of queuing for hours with small children and paying a small fortune for snacks and toys that would be forgotten about the moment we get home gives me palpitations.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who dreads as one man went viral for a video of what it’s like to be a parent at Disney Land.

John Crist posted the video titled ‘Every parent at Disney’ a few months ago but 91,000 shares later it’s still popping up all over our Facebook home feeds.
My personal favourite was ‘Forty-five dollars for bedazzled mouse ears?! Baby, you want these or you want to go to college?’ I had a moment very like this at Disney On Ice when my kid wanted a drink in a Mickey Mouse cup that cost €15.
Even Disney employees themselves thought that John’s video was spot on;
“I work at Magic Kingdom and this couldn’t be any more accurate of what I hear everyday!”
