Netflix's latest feature will give parents serious peace of mind

A statement has been issued by the PSNI after a child received an inappropriate Xbox message.

According to Belfast Live, the child’s parents were alerted immediately after the contact via Xbox Live and they then contacted the Northern Irish police service.

An officer for the PSNI said that parents should be vigilant about their children’s gaming consoles and other online gaming options, including smartphones and tablets.

They also emphasised the importance of parents telling their children not to give any personal information to strangers.

The PSNI spokesperson said:

“Please report and similar incidents to Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

“Don’t be afraid to speak with your children about these issues. These types of messages can be received on all gaming consoles with internet access such as Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo.

“Advise your children never to give away personal details to strangers”.
