Due in June? Babies born this month are super-special, and here is why

Summer baby on the way?

If you are due this month, at least you can take comfort in that the end is in sight, mum, and you don’t have to endure the rest of the long, (hopefully) hot summer being super-pregnant and ready to pop.

And there are some other pretty cool benefits to giving birth in June too, actually.

Did you know babies born in June, statistically, are happier than babies born any other time of the year? It’s true. They are also on course for working in a creative job, and being taller than their peers born in winter.

Here are three more reasons why June babies are super duper cool:

1. They are permanently happy and positive

Happy campers! Science has found that the season of one’s birth can have a lifelong impact on moods, and babies born in summer months are happier, and the least susceptible to sadness brought on by seasonal affective disorders.

As well as this, according to Mother.ly, hyperthymic temperament — aka a sunny, upbeat disposition — is more often found in people born in spring and summer. In other words, good news for mamas expecting this month.

2. They are healthier

According to a study published in the journal Heliyon, summer-born babies are more likely to grow up to be healthy adults. Researchers theorize that greater exposure to sunlight — and therefore higher vitamin D exposure — leads to better overall wellbeing.

As well as this, summer-born babies are less likely to to endanger themselves by being into things like sky-diving or black piste skiing.

Studies of how our season of birth impacts dopamine levels suggest thrill-seeking behavior is more common in kids born in autumn and winter. Researchers found that kids born in May and June had the lowest levels, meaning they’re less likely to take big risks than their winter-born peers.

3. They are generous and forgiving

Being born in June means your baby is likely to be a Gemini. And whether you are into astrology or not, people born under this star sign are said to be able to frequently see both sides of an argument. And so as a result, June-born people are forgiving and generous.

Keep in mind, though, that their Gemini-ness means that they also can be indecisive.
