The brand new Christmas collection from Sostrene Grene speaks to my Scandi heart
Am I biased?
But seriously – you don't get any more Christmas feel than Christmas in Scandinavia.
The snow, the cold, that magical blue-ish daylight outside – even just looking at pictures from home can bring on that Christmas feeling for me. And even now, when I decorate our home here in Ireland for the holidays, my decor is Scandi-style, minimal and predominantly red and white all the way.
Which is why when I recently had a sneak peak at the upcoming Søstrene Grene Christmas collection, it actually made me feel almost homesick with longing, that's how much I loved it.
The colours, the pared-back style, the simple, yet festive touches in tones of red and white, and natural greenery... It is pretty much exactly how I want my home to look at Christmas time.
Just look at these gorgeous little wooden decorations:
Every year, I have baubles on my own tree that were once hanging on my great grandparents' Christmas tree, and to us, Christmas decor is all about tradition – trends have no place. These delicate and festive glass baubles remind me a lot of vintage ones I have been gifted and inherited over the years from my great grandparents and grandparents:
Christmas time is all about gathering together the ones we love over good food and even better conversations. Just look at this – wouldn't you want to wake up to this breakfast table?
Søstrene Grene’s 2019 Christmas collection will launch in two phases, October 24th and November 21st 2019, in all Søstrene Grene stores worldwide including Georges Street Dublin 2, Dun Laoghaire, Blanchardstown, Cork, Limerick, Athlone, Belfast, Newry and Bangor. You'll thank yourself for stopping by to check it out, trust me.
From marvellous kitchen utensils, beautiful host and hostess gifts and table settings designed for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the collection will help transform your home into a warm and inviting winter solace for family and friends to enjoy.
I will for sure be picking up these little mini trees for my bedside tables:
And so perfectly Scandi (like, we used to make these in primary school!), I must have some of these for the little trees we always put in my children's room:
If you are keen at baking for Christmas (no Christmas without my great grandmother's sugar cookies in our house), these biscuit tins are so lovely:
And since I'm filling a basket, maybe just a couple more buys...
Scandi Christmas, we are coming for you.
