Modern Brides Are Banning THIS One Thing From Their Weddings

Sharyn Hayden

I once watched my friends get married through the screen of the iPad.

The couple who sat in front of us were so intent on capturing the ceremony that they held their recording device high above their heads for the duration.

We couldn’t see a thing.

More and more, I am attending weddings where an announcement is made before the ceremony begins, asking everyone to switch their phones and iPads off and live in the moment.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the ‘Unplugged Wedding’ – and I think it’s a GREAT idea.

Do you remember the pic of the groom that went viral because he couldn’t see his bride walking up the aisle due to all the mobile devices being held in the air in his way? We wrote about it here.

Sure, everyone is excited to see what the bride and groom (mostly the bride) are wearing but what is the point of the day if everyone only lives it through their phones?

And seriously, what is the point if the groom can’t enjoy watching his blushing bride-to-be walk up the aisle because Aunty Vera’s Samsung is in the way?

Let’s get back to basics – remember the beautiful moments in your head and heart and – UNPLUG.

What do you think? Would you prefer if your wedding guests turned their phones off during your big day? Let us know in the comments on Facebook.
