Cork native Emylou Hurley designs sustainable yoga wear perfect for busy mums

Melissa Carton

Stylish and ethically produced.

We’ve all fallen in love with our lounge wear the last while, but with things starting to return to normal us mums are going to need something comfy we can get out and about in.

The last couple of years I’ve been trying to shop as sustainably as possible, and where I can, shop from sustainable Irish brands.

If like myself, you’re on the lookout for eco-friendly sports wear that’s stylish too then Organic Movement (designed by Cork native Emylou Hurley) is a brand you should definitely check out.

Emylou launched Organic Basics at this year’s Thrive Festival which included Organic Movement’s elegant triangle bras, long sleeve tees, tennis socks and towels all made from organic cotton.

Organic Movement is Ireland’s first and only stockist of Organic Basics, an international activewear brand who also shares the same values as Emylou, and takes pride in their ethics.

“My main focus will always be the people, be it the garment maker, supplier or customer. With that in mind, I aim to keep all lines of communication open at all times, even in this difficult period.

From being a customer myself, I have learned it is so important to maintain this relationship, especially in times of uncertainty.”

The Organic Movement yoga leggings are 92 per cent organic cotton to 8 per cent lycra to retain the shape.

The leggings are high waisted and come in a hand printed chevron design.

As well as being super soft they are made in a safe and clean environment for the cotton farmer to work in.

Organic Movement’s yoga leggings cost €65 per pair and are available to purchase from the Organic Movement’s website.
