This is the DELICIOUS hair colour everyone is going to be BEGGING their hairdressers for now

Trine Jensen-Burke

Now that the world has finally moved on from ombre (thank God!), we are more than ready to ditch the dip-dye and embrace something new when it comes to our hair.

Well, look no further. The buzzword for spring hair is Cinnamon Swirl.

That’s right. This delectable hair colour, characterised by warm shades of honey, nutmeg and cinnamon that magically blurs the line between brunette and blonde, is so sweet it will leave you drooling.

The new IT shade is the brainchild of US hairstylist Ryan Pearl of Cutler Salon in NYC, and this is what he has to say about the colour that already has editors and beauty bloggers lining up outside their local salons.

“The way I like to explain hair color to my clients in a way that’s relatable is through food,” Pearl recently explaind to Cosmopolitan.com about how he coined the term cinnamon swirl hair. “It paints a better picture than ‘warm tones, cool tones,’ that some people don’t understand.”

To get the look for this image Pearl shared on his own Instagram account, he started by touching up model Natalia Borges’s roots with a shade that blends in with her regular base color “so that when it grows out, there’s no line of demarcation.” Then he used a combination of hair painting and foil to get the look of cinnamon swirly goodness.

“Everyone’s doing a lot of hair painting right now, but I like to do hair painting and put it into a foil, the hairstylist explains. “That gives the hair some brighter pieces and more pop. It doesn’t make everything look so blended, so it gives it a more dimensional look rather than a really blended look. That’s what makes this look different.”

So there you have it. Is there really any combo better than perfect highlights and dessert? The answer is no, there is not.
