DIY: How to make distressed denim shorts (for under €5)

If the forecasters are to be believed there’s some warm weather on the way, but with the autumn stock arriving in stores daily, it might be a little late to go sourcing shorts for lazy days and barbecues. 

But worry not: with a little creativity, you could be rocking a new pair every day for the remainder of summer… and for just a couple of quid!

Distressed denim is a trend that returns again and again, and while high street and designer brands charge a pretty penny for ripped threads and bleached fabric, these effects are incredibly easy to recreate at home.

All you need is an old pair of well-fitting comfy jeans (we scour second-hand shops for vintage Levis), some bleach, a good scissors, some sand paper and a pair of tweezers.
