A €725 blue gown… but Kate’s shoulder-length hair steals the show

WOW!

When you’re donning a completely stunning midi gown and you’re a British royal, you’re always going to command a lot of attention.

But on Thursday evening pretty much everyone at the Natural History Museum in London was talking about one thing only: namely Duchess Kate’s shorter-than-ever tresses.

Styled into full curls, her strands sat neatly on her shoulders – quite the departure from the long, luscious locks for which the 35-year-old mum-of-two is famed.

Indeed, the look is already being dubbed ‘the kob’ in her honour. And here at HerFamily we reckon it’s the perfect mixture of glamour and practicality – ideal if you’ve small ones at home (and even if you do have a nanny).

Kate was on hand alongside David Attenborough to unveil a new blue whale skeleton at the world-famous museum and wore a €725 midi-dress from Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.

Unsurprisingly, it has now sold out from net-a-porter.com.

The Duchess had first debuted her new tresses at Wimbledon earlier this month, but tonight’s official event gave us the first proper look at those shortened strands.

Earlier this week, Kate had attended a state banquet for the King and Queen of Spain at Buckingham Palace, but her hair was pulled back into an upstyle.

Long live the kob!
