Ellie Goulding’s wedding dress took 640 hours to make and honestly, WOW

Wowza.

A vision.

Over the weekend, Ellie Goulding walked down the aisle to say her “I dos” with art dealer Caspar Jopling at York Minister.

The wedding which wasn’t short of famous faces, which saw the likes of Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, James Blunt, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to name a few in attendance.

The Love Me Like You Do singer also pulled out all the stops for her big day, wearing a bespoke Chloé gown which reportedly took 640 hours to create.

And that’s not all, the dress was then accompained by a veil by designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi. The veil consisted of hand-embroidered White Roses of York and the initials “CJ and EG” sewn into the collar.

The veil reportedly took nearly as long as the dress to create with the fashion house reporting that they worked on it for 591 hours.

Yep, 591 hours but… wow!

Speaking about the first fitting of her dress to JustJared, Ellie said:

“I have never felt more special than the moment I first tried on the dress during my fitting in Paris, it was utterly awe-inspiring to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail.”

Ellie arrived in style true to her hippie personality by choosing a blue Volkswagen camper van as her mode of transport.

The ‘festival style’ evening also included VIP pods for guests to stay in, and golf buggies to drive them around the grounds.

It comes around a year after the couple took an old-fashioned option to share their engagement with the world.

They published an engagement announcement in the Births, Marriages and Deaths section of The Times newspaper in August last year.

“Mr C.W.F. Jopling and Miss E.J. Goulding,” it read.

“The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands.”

The happy couple partied the night away at Castle Howard with the whole wedding reportedly planned by the same events company as Kate Middleton and Prince William’s big day, mind you.
