Valentina Sampaio is set to make history as the first transgender model to make the cover of Vogue magazine.

Editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Emmanuelle Alt, shared an image to her Instagram account of the March cover featuring stunning Brazilian model and L’Oréal Paris ambassador Valentina Sampaio.

“This month we are proud to celebrate transgender beauty and how models like Valentina Sampaio, who is posing for her first ever Vogue cover, are changing the face of fashion and deconstructing prejudice.”

The ground-breaking fashion shoot was styled by Emmanuelle herself and captured by the world-famous photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, who are known for their portraits of some of the world’s most powerful women. The photographers also took to Instagram to share some images of Ms Sampaio,

“Deconstructing prejudice. So proud to shoot the first ever cover of Vogue magazine with a transgender model! This is about breaking rules and trying to shine some light in to dark minds!”
