This Genius Fridge Hack Will Revolutionise How You Shop For Groceries

Trine Jensen-Burke

Story of our lives.

Hit up Tesco for the weekly grocery haul, lug the bags home, and just as we are starting to put it all into fridge and presses, realize there already is some broccoli hiding out at the back of the fridge and for f**k sake, you had forgotten that your husband did buy milk yesterday.

But, guys, we have just come across a genius way to streamline this for your next shop – saving yourself cash and time along the way.

What you need: A pen and a notepad you can clip to the front of your fridge.

What you do: On the top sheet of paper, draw a line down the middle and label one half of the sheet Fridge Contents and the other half Freezer Contents. Next, spend a few minutes jotting down a list of everything inside. For example, you have one bag of frozen peas, a large frozen pizza and three jars of tomato sauce. As in; think of it as a grocery list that shows what you have instead of what you need.

Now what? Every time you use something up, cross it off the list. This way, the next time you’re mapping out meals for the week, you can see at a glance which items you already have in your freezer and fridge, and which ones you need to replace.

Money (and tomato sauce) saved!
