This Genius Way to Fold Socks Will Prove You’ve Been Doing It Wrong Your Whole Life

Trine Jensen-Burke

I am a pretty neat and tidy person – meaning that most of the hordes of stuff in our house is fairly well organized, as in folded, put in semi-neat piles and stacked away in drawers and wardrobes.

This, however, does not include our collective sock drawers, where everything just gets thrown in – as socks are usually the last bit I put away from the mountain of clean laundry that tends to assemble in spare room (don’t judge me!).

As well as this, either our washing machine eats socks, or our socks are fleeing in the night for a better life and leaving their partners behind. Which is all sorts of upsetting, clearly. I mean; why can’t they stay together and make it work? Our house is like the Hollywood of socks!

But having seen this video (yes, yes, I watch Youtube videos on folding socks) I will at least be armed with the knowledge of how to fold our few pairs of socks who are indeed still part of a pair.

Wow. Is your mind blown too?

I mean, prior to this, I only sort of knew one way to fold socks. You know the one where you stuff one sock inside the other and the “tuck-and-fold,” and then the where-you-fold-the-top-over bit just sort of bind the pair together.

This way seems better, though, no? I mean, you will save on space for starters, with those neatly stacked little sock piles…

Then again; who these days has the time or energy to be precious about the way their socks are folded..?

What do YOU think, guys? Did you ever fold your socks this way before? Do you think you will start now? Tweet us your thoughts at @Herfamilydotie
