Goodbye skinny jeans : Brown Thomas Dublin holds pop up for BOYISH Jeans

Melissa Carton

We’ll be there.

I have an ongoing love/hate relationship with my skinny jeans.

Some days I love them because they make my legs look lovely and slim but other days I hate them because they do nothing for my mum tum. There’s a reason comfy jeans are called mom jeans after all.

Recently I went up a size around my hips and I’ve been on the look out for some new jeans that are both stylish but are also comfortable around my mid section so I’m definitely making a stop at this Brown Thomas Dublin pop up for BOYISH jeans.

Brown Thomas Dublin welcomes an exclusive pop up from sustainable denim brand BOYISH Jeans, a collection of women’s denim centered around vintage silhouettes with a modern update.

The two-month pop-up showcases a range of fits including high-rise straight and wide leg styles and more relaxed, tapered silhouettes across a colour palette of indigos, white and khaki.

It also features cut-off denim shorts, cropped jackets along with relaxed tees and cropped sweaters. I’m addicted to crop sweaters as I’ve quite a long torso that I like to break up with high waisted jeans and crop tops, so this is pure music to my ears.

I love a sustainable brand and BOYISH is just that as it uses ethical and sustainable practices when developing and manufacturing its designs. All jeans are produced with sustainable fabrics through an environmentally-friendly and cruelty-free process.

Now because they are sustainable that does mean they are a little bit more pricey that most fast fashion brands and a pair of BOYISH jeans will set you back €250.

It’s a big investment in a pair of jeans but if I thought I could get ten years of wear out of them as opposed to my current jeans which I’m replacing regularly then it might be worth it.

BOYISH Jeans is available in Brown Thomas Dublin and online BrownThomas.com from now until the end of April.
