Holiday close to home: 10 buys for your 'summer-in-Ireland' wardrobe
It looks like it'll be a summer spent close to home - for all of us.
And look, I know that to many of us, that is disappointing. I am sure many of you, like me, have spent winter daydreaming about sun-drenched beaches and Greek islands and Aperol Spritzes enjoyed in the shade on a romantic piazza.
However, we just have to make the best of things – and right now, that means trying to get excited about our summer at home. And in order to start feeling happy about the situation, I have decided to start with my summer wardrobe. After all – staying home doesn't mean we can't dress in clothing that makes us feel summery. We can still enjoy day-trips to the seaside, and walks in the park, and – hopefully – come summer, be able to get together with at least a couple of friends for a drink or a back garden BBQ.
And when all these things happen, here is what I am planning to wear:
1. Button-Front Jumpsuit
Jumpsuits are so perfect for summer in Ireland– breezy enough for warm days, yet covered up enough for when the weather turns and you need to run for cover. Oh – and they always look chic.
2. Gathered Flutter Sleeve Maxi Dress
Perfect for a walk at the park or a family BBQ.
€79, & Other Stories
3. Heavy-Weight T-Shirt
A good-quality white t-shirt is a must in every summer wardrobe – trust me, it'll go with everything else in there.
4. Leather Sneakers
These gorgeous lace-up sneakers will
5. Wide Lyocell Trousers
We love how easy these are to wear – yet chic enough to take them out of leisure-wear territory. Also, they'll look just as chic worn with sandals as they will with the white trainers.
6. Low-Backed Swimsuit
Just in case the weather is sunny enough for a trip to the beach!
7. Pure Cashmere Striped Long Sleeve Jumper
Just perfect for those (inevitable) chilly evenings when you need to cover up a little.
8. Belted Floral Ruffle Midi Skirt
Perfect with just the flat trainers and a white tee.
€89, & Other Stories
9. Boyish Safari Jacket
Perfect to throw over the t-shirt, the jumpsuit or the dress – in other words; it'll go with your entire summer wardrobe.
10. Paper Bag Shorts
Possibly the coolest shorts we have ever worn.
