For your own little princess… there is now a souvenir Charlotte collection

Gillian Fitzpatrick

Let’s face it – our little girls are ALL little princesses too.

And now a Charlotte collection – so that your daughter can have that extra little bit of royalty about her – is garnering a lot of attention ahead of the birthday of the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who turns two on May 2.

It includes costumes, pendants, tiaras, toys, t-shirts, lip glosses, and cutlery – and although based on a fictional Princess Charlotte, the princess-approved accessories are most certainly befitting of the little royal herself.

The most expensive item, a purple gown, costs £35 (€40).

“Imagine yourself gliding down the corridors of Kensington Palace like Princess Charlotte with this delightful princess fancy dress,” reads the accompanying description on the website.

Prices start at just £2 (€2.35) while a cuddly toy doll is currently on sale for £5 (€5.85). Its description states: “Wonderfully detailed, our Princess Charlotte soft toy doll is dressed in a super soft velour and satin gown.

“The Palace Princesses have been created using historical reference and are inspired by real princesses that lived in the palaces in our care.”

Released via historicroyalpalaces.com – the range does not have official endorsement from Kensington Palace. However, profits from sales benefit symbolic British royal buildings around London, including the Tower Of London itself. It is also on sale in official souvenir shops located at important royal landmarks.

In 2015, Charlotte-inspired toys were released ahead of her birth, and a collection of memorabilia was also commissioned for both the little princess and her brother Prince George’s christenings.
