Out of office: The ONLY 11 items you need to pack in your holiday suitcase this year
Counting down days until you are heading off on a much needed holiday?
Yep, us too.
And if that is the case, you might have started thinking about what you are going to pack in your holiday suitcase? If you are anything like us, you love the idea of packing light, and possibly even getting all you need into your carry-on, meaning no waiting around for your luggage to arrive once you land at your destination, and money saved because you didn't have to check in anything.
The trick is to pack items that go together, are easy to wear, don't crinkle and, well, look fab.
And this summer, we are planning on clicking home all the bits below – pretty much the perfect holiday suitcase, all wrapped up!
1. Chant des Cigales one piece swimsuit
The perfect black, v-neck swimsuit – will look perfectly polished and chic both pool-side and on the beach, no matter what your destination. Pair with the shorts below for heading for an aperitivo or lunch.
2. V-neck dress
This pretty dress in a easy-to-care-for lyocell blend won't crinkle, and will look as perfect for slipping over your bikini as you head from the beach to the pool bar as it will look paired with wedges in the evening, heading out for dinner.
3. Flat Natural Maxi Tote Bag
A slight variety of the classic basket bag, we love how roomy this tote is. Perfect as hand luggage while travelling, and works equally well as beach bag or shopper when hitting the markets.
4. Rolled-up hem shorts
Perfect for sightseeing and shopping, equally perfect for dinner paired with some glittery sandals.
5. Flat Leather Mules
Comfy and chic – just what a pair of holiday sandals need to be.
6. Wide trousers
Wide-legged pants are not only comfy, but also super-flattering. We love these for both travelling in, and also pulling on if the evenings get a tad chilly at your destination.
7. White Embroidery Blouse
No summer wardrobe should be without the perfect broderie anglaise top, and we love this simple, but sweet one from Penneys. Wear with the shorts or trousers, and if you have a some denim cut-offs in your suitcase, it will look perfect paired with those too.
8. Palm Tree Provence Dress
Possibly the most perfect summer dress we have ever seen, yes, it's not cheap, but you'll be dragging this dress out of your wardrobe for every summer holiday for years and years.
£195, Rae Feather
9. Ribbed strappy top
Light, won't crease in your suitcase and works when worn with both the shorts and wide-legged pants above.
10. Contrast Stripe Straw Fedora Hat
Because we all want to protect both our hair and skin from the sun. Team with a sundress and bikini for the ultimate holiday outfit.
11. Tie Front Jumpsuit
We love how versatile this jumpsuit is – equally fab for sightseeing, as it is for shopping, brunching or even travelling in (comfort all the way!) A sure suitcase winner.
