Redecorating? We already know what interior design trends will be HUGE in 2018

Cathy Donohue

If you’re dreaming of interiors, this will be of interest.

Similar to fashion, interior design is always one step ahead and we already know what colours will trend in 2018.

The Pantone colour predictions for next year have been revealed on Elle Decor and there are lots of bright, vivid tones including Cornsilk Yellow and Holly Berry Red.

Discussing the subject at the International Home + Housewares Show, Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute Executive Director said:

“Intense colours seem to be a natural application of our intense lifestyles and thought processes these days”.

What exactly can we expect then?

According to Home Accents Today, one colour palette, named Resourceful, includes complementary blue and orange colours.

Expect this to be BIG with the interiors expert adding:

“This is quite an interesting colour combination. It combines warm and cool tones that you just can’t avoid looking at it”.

Most of us are magpies, drawn to anything that glitters, with Eiseman reinforcing this with the words “the human eye can absolutely not avoid” anything iridescent and pearlised.

Simply put, we can expect to see more metallics, although more on the muted side, next year.

TECH-nique includes pink, purple and turquoise offset by shades of white and almond which sounds like a delicious palette altogether.

Pink is a major trend of the moment and that will continue into next year judging by the Discretion palette.

Think shades of Elderberry, Burnished Lilac and Hawthorne Rose, all of which sound like interior heaven.
