Redecorating? Here is the ONE colour experts say we will all be obsessed with in 2019

Thinking about making some changes at home in the new year?

Well, then you might care to know what colour the experts at Pantone think will be THE colour of 2019?

Say hello to Living Coral – a hue the colour experts say reflect a fresh start, a reawakening, a burst of feminine energy.

Living Coral apparently is the newest color of the moment, and is a hue that, according to Pantone’s vice president Laurie Pressman, can be described as a “saturated orange base with a golden undertone” that instantly makes you feel warm and welcome—something she thinks is especially important right now.

“With everything that’s going on today, we’re looking for those humanizing qualities because we’re seeing online life dehumanizing a lot of things,” she told the Associated Press. “We’re looking toward those colors that bring nourishment and the comfort and familiarity that make us feel good. It’s not too heavy. We want to play. We want to be uplifted. It’s the emotional nourishment. It’s a big hug.”

It is impossible not to think the decision to go with coral as a hue for 2019 sends an important message about deteriorating coral reefs that are in dire need of protection – something which is part of a much bigger debate about environment we are all seeing happen globally.

And as for colour meaning, coral is in the same category as orange, meaning it is a coral that envokes passion and creativity. Meaning, bringing more coral into your life could be an easy way to tap into those important parts of yourself and bring them into balance so you can harness all the built-up energy from within.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to embrace a bold new you (or home) in 2019.
