Having been pregnant twice, I now know that one of the most pointless (and money-wasting) things you will be tricked into thinking you need lots of when you are expecting a baby, is maternity clothes.
Yup, that’s right.
I will go as far as saying that for the most part, you can get through at least the very majority of your pregnancy without spending any money on designated maternity wear. Personally, I lived in dresses that I could just belt over my bump, or these seriously cool (and totally comfy) leather-look leggings that I pared with an assortment of kimono-style tops worn over a vest (so I could wear it open or just belted loosely) or long jumpers that fitted perfectly over my growing bump.
However; the one item I will argue all pregnancy wardrobes need (and one you will not regret spending money on) is a pair of seriously well-fitted skinny maternity jeans. As in; these will see you through your entire pregnancy (and the weeks beyond) and will avoid you having any major wardrobe issues or concerns.
The ony problem? Finding a good pair can actually be a bit of a headache. As in; they tend to either be uncomfortably tight, loose in all the wrong places, or just plain ugly.

Good aul’ Topshop saves the day again. These jeans are as comfy as they are cool – and I am sure any style-concious mama-to-be will appreciate being able to keep wearing her iconic Jamie jeans throughout her pregnancy. We love the slightly distressed wash and the cut-off hems too.

Yes, they are a bit of an investement, but holy moly, these jeans are so worth it, I swear.
Fitting snugly under your bump, the elastic panels at the faux front pockets lend a super-comfy fit to these faded J Brand maternity jeans.
Oh, and we love the way they stay the shape they are – no matter what. No saggy bits and lose elastics here.

3. H&M MAMA Skinny Jeans
These are a must-buy, mamas – trust me; I have not only worn these, but recommended them to ALL my friends who have subsequently fallen pregnant.
These fit comfortably over your bump, making sure you look and feel well in everything you wear with it, and they look equally perfect worn dressed up with a pretty blouse and heels for date night as they will with your Converse and a tee-shirt on weekends.
