Serena’s wedding snaps have landed and she is fab in Alexander McQueen

The couple's two-month old daughter was in attendance.

She married Alexis Ohanian on Thursday – celebrating with a reception attended by 200 nearest and dearest (including a host of big names).

And now the first snaps of the wedding have been shared by Vogue, guests, and the happy couple themselves.

Suffice to say, Serena, 36, looked absolutely breathtaking wearing Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen – the designer who famously created Kate Middleton’s bridal look back in 2011.

“I flew to London to meet with Sarah and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette,” Serena told Vogue.

She admitted that the dress was “completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself,” but that she was persuaded by the opportunity to wear a “really spectacular ball gown”.

For the New Orleans ceremony, Serena also opted for a cape (which Her recently identified as being a major bridal trend). She chose white roses for her bouquet; her jewellery was from XIV Karats and was worth €3million.

The bridesmaids – which of course included her tennis pro sister Venus – wore custom Galia Lahav dresses.

Internet entrepreneur Alexis – and the brains behind Reddit – settled on Armani for his suit. In his wedding vows (tissues at the ready, folks) the 34-year-old gushed:

“You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport. I’m talking about as a mother and as a wife. I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together.

“And my whole life I didn’t even realize it, but I was waiting for this moment.

“And everything that I have done, everything that I am so proud of in my career, and in my life, for the last 34 years, pales in comparison to what we’re doing today. And I am so grateful, and I am so in love.”

The couple’s two-month daughter, Olympia, was very much front and centre for the day and features in the couple’s snaps. The little one also wore Alexander McQueen – in the form of a mini-white dress with beading detail.

The wedding had a Beauty And The Beast French ball theme, and the four long tables for guests were named after the four Grand Slam tournaments (Serena has won all four on a record 39 separate occasions).

For dinner – during which the happy happy had sat on gold thrones.

Those in attendance dined on the likes of charred tomato tartare, as well as steak, fish, and salad dishes inspired by the Deep South, Italy, and Armenia. Afterwards, there were numerous dessert and cheese stations to indulge in.

Ms Williams then changed into her second gown: a dramatic beaded, feathered Versace number.

“It took a team of five embroiderers to create the dress,” Donatella Versace told Vogue. They “worked nonstop to make sure the tiniest details were perfectly taken care of, for a total of 1,500 hours”.

She even had a THIRD outfit: a stunning fitted and shorter dress also by Versace.

Serena and Alexis had chosen their wedding date in order to honour the groom’s mother – who died nine years ago; November 16 is her birthday.

Guests in attendance included Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé Knowles, Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Caroline Wozniacki and Anna Wintour.

The couple met by chance in Rome – the same city where they got engaged 18 months later.
