About to pack your suitcase and head for the airport?

You lucky thing. July should be all about the vacay and sunny weather vibes.

When it comes to travelling in the summer season, I am all about keeping things simple and easy. I want my make sure my skin is protected and hydrated, and just looks it absolute most glowing and healthy best.

Summer skin doesn’t really require a lot of makeup, I think, a lick of lipgloss and some mascara will do, but when it comes to skincare, I love taking time over the holidays to really nourish and treat my skin – because if you don’t have time for a bit of self-care on holidays, sure when the heck do you.

Doing what I do, I get to talk to a lot of experts and test out a lot of products, but when it comes to the ones I would actually buy again and love using on my own skin, the list isn’t that long.

Right now, I am obsessed with these five, and if you are looking to really treat your own skin this summer, I suggest you pack them all into your suitcase before heading for the airport:

1. Barechic Skin Illume Eye Serum

Ever since discovering the amazing and all-natural products from Irish skincare company Barechic Skin, I have been hooked, and these days, I never set foot near an airplane without this eye serum roller.

Enriched with vitamin rich plant oils, I love the feeling of using the cool rollerball underneath the eye and eyebrow bone. It makes my eyes look more awake and feel all sorts of fresh and glowy.

The Illume Eye serum is chock-a-block with vitamin rich plant oils that will smooth and rejuvenate, making your skin appear brighter and more luminous in an instant.

At home, I store it in the fridge, so that it feels extra cool and lovely when I apply it (great for puffy-lloking eyes, by the way!)

2. The Organic Pharmacy Cellular Protection Sun Cream SPF50

A natural mineral sunscreen that combines titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to provide protection against UVA and UVB rays. No nano particles just finely micronized minerals protect the skin form premature ageing and sun damage.

I Also love that this mineral sun cream is infused with Aloe, Rose Hip, Shea Butter and Calendula to nourish and protect, and that, as opposed to many other sun lotions, this light cream is easily absorbed and leaves no white residue.

3. PAYOT Hydra 24+ Balm in Mask

This mask if the most amazing thing – and take it from me – the only thing you’ll want to be wearing on your skin when onboard any flight this summer.

Seriously, remove all your make-up (well, you can still wear a lick of mascara if that makes you feel like you look more alive), and, once in your seat, apply a thin layer of this mask to your face. The air inside an airplane is extremely dry, and most of us have felt that dry, tight sensation in our skin upon stepping off a flight. But with the Hydry 24+ Balm in Mask from Payot, within minutes, this ultra-fresh balm-emulsion moisturises thirsty skin, intensely nourishes the most dehydrated skin, and procures comfort and softness.

Results? You have never looked fresher and more radiant upon arrival, trust me.

4. Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara 4D

I generally don’t wear much makeup at all in summer, preferring to let my skin breathe and refresh. But I need a little lick of mascara – especially for heading out for dinners in the evening or when we ditch the beach for some sightseeing or shopping.

And when it comes to mascaras, I am obsessed – literally OBSESSED with the Wonder Perfect Macara 4D from Clarins, which is giving me lashes I have never, ever had before. No, seriously – I am talking volume, length, curve and high definition – the whole nine yards, and if you have yet to try it, take my word for it: Just do.

5. He-Shi Day to Day Gradual Tan Mini 50 ml

Because I am always covered in SPF 50 when I am out in the sun, I rely on this gradual tan from He-Shi for gently taking my complexion from its natural state to a gorgeous, bronzed hue – all without actually damaging my skin in the sun.

I have an issue with many self-tans as they seem to dry out my skin, and smell so metallic and horribe, I just can’t bring myself to use them. But this one is a long-term favourite. I love how the  Day to Day Gradual Tan contains anti-ageing Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Pro Vitamin B5 for rehydrating my skin whilst including a subtle element of self tan.

Tip: This is also perfect for evening out your natural skin tone or can be used to maintain an existing tan by topping up your colour between self tan applications.
