The super-easy DIY remedy that will smooth and soften your dry, cracked feet

Summer is lovely – but sandal season can also be rough for our feet.

Constantly being barefoot and in sandals or flip-flops can make your feet dry, and leave you with heels that are cracked – both of which can be as uncomfortable as it is painful too.

If this sounds like your feet right about now, you might want to try this handy DIY trick we just read about – which is not only super-easy to do, but also doesn’t cost much and chances are you probably have the ingredients you need already.

Enter: The vinegar foot soak – probably the kindest thing you can do for your feet right now.

The reasons this remedy works so well is that vinegar’s acidic properties can do wonders for dry feet and cracked heels and can moisten the parched skin on your feet, leaving you with smoother, softer feet.

DIY vinegar foot soak

 1. Fill a large bucket with 2-1 parts warm water and vinegar (I used an apple cider one)

2. Soak your feet for 10 to 20 minutes

3. Repeat this process daily until the issue subsides

Bonus? Many who use this foot soak also report that any problems with foot odour go away too, as vinegar is not only antifungal, but antimicrobial too, meaning soaking your feet in a vinegar bath may help to kill the bacteria or fungi that’s causing pesky foot odor.
