These foods could be the secret to healthier hair

HerFamily

Did you know that what you eat can also have an impact on the state and appearance of your hair?

Well, it can. But don’t worry, we’ve done some digging and found five foods that are said to benefit your locks.

And yes, we are planning on consuming all of them this weekend… not together though.

Salmon

Salmon contains protein, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids which help to make your hair strong and prevent split ends. The latter also keeps your scalp hydrated.

Walnuts

The vitamin E in walnuts protects against hair damage and they are also good for maintaining a healthy colour. (But remember, only a closed handful a day otherwise your tummy could suffer.)

Eggs

From protein to iron, eggs actually help to prevent hair loss. Whether you like them poached, scrambled or sunny side up – they’re a must for your mane.

Eggs - We included these because you can have them for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Eggs are full of protein and give you lots of energy which will inevitably make you smile.

Spinach

Spinach is commonly associated with strong muscles (we’ve all seen Popeye) but it actually does a lot for your hair due to the vitamin C it contains. That helps to keep hair healthy and shiny.

This is a bit of a superfood and it’s super for your do because it is packed full vitamins B5 and D. Add in some walnuts and you’ve got a hair-raising snack!

Yoghurt Some types of yoghurts contain probiotics, which keep your tummy and digestive system clean and healthy.
