Whitney Port has shared pictures of Sonny’s chic nursery

This is SO on-trend.

She never sets a foot wrong when it comes to her own personal style, so it is little wonder that designer and former reality star Whitney Port is a dab hand at interiors too.

And now Port, who welcomed her first baby only weeks ago, has shared some gorgeous snaps of her little boy’s seriously chic nursery – and needless to say, little Sonny is being tended to in the most fabulous of surroundings.

The new mum and her husband Tim Rosenman, who have been entertaining us all throughout Port’s pregnancy with their “I love my baby, bu…” video series, enlisted the help of US retailer Joss & Main to deck out their baby’s very first room, and has shared their ideas for the space that they planned alongside style director Donna Garlough at Joss & Main.

“Since we didn’t find out the sex of our baby, we wanted the room to be very gender neutral without being too boring,” Port explained. “I wanted the nursery to match the master bedroom in vibe—Moroccan accents, light wood finishes, neutral colors but also have a sort of whimsical, fairytale aspect to it.”

To pull this off, Port decided togo with a neutral palette of white and sand and brought in touches of black, green, and warm terra-cotta with the rug and pillows. “Plenty of natural materials like wood, leather, rope, and woven seagrass add character and texture,” Garlough, who helped pull the room together, explained.

Like many of us when designing a nursery, Port had five must-haves in mind when creating this room: a crib, a dresser that acts as a changing table, a soft rug, a glider, and a day bed.

“We use the glider to feed him and calm him and the daybed is perfect for when we want to lay down in there and just stare at him or take a little snooze while he sleeps,” the new mum explains.

What do YOU think, mamas? Did you go for gender neutral when decorating your baby’s first room? Why? Why not?
