Kylie Jenner comes under fire for letting her two-year-old wear hoop earrings

Melissa Carton

Is she too young?

I remember being so excited to get my ears pierced when I was seven.

A lot of the girls in my class had pierced ears since they were babies and I was always sad that they could all wear earrings and I couldn’t.

Seven was around the age that most of the girls in my family have their ears pierced but when it came to one of my younger cousins she decided she didn’t want her ears pierced and to this day still doesn’t.

Everyone wants different things but I feel like when it comes to things like babies having pierced ears there are a lot of mixed opinions.

Kylie Jenner recently posted a photo of her two-year-old daughter Stormi wearing hoop earrings, customised with her name, on Instagram and within moments it was causing a stir online.

Many felt that little Stormi was too young to wear hoop earrings and that she was being dressed too old for her age.

“Let kids be kids please. She looks so much better without them.”

“Isn’t she a little bit young to be wearing such big earrings?”

“Hoops for a 2 year old, seriously?”

My daughter is the same age as Stormi but I haven’t had her ears pierced yet as I want to leave the decision up to her.

Saying that I would never judge another mum for wanting to pierce her child’s ears or what earrings they want their child to wear.

The only concern I would have with big earrings like hoops would be that a small child would pull on them and hurt herself.

Saying that for all we know Kylie was thinking the same thing and only let Stormi wear the hoop earrings for a photograph before taking them back off of her again.
