How to keep the kids warm and safe in their car seats in cold weather

Melissa Carton

Many tests have been done proving that bulky coats can make the straps of your child’s car seat obsolete.

When the weather is cold though it can be tough as a parent to know how to keep them warm but also keep them safe on car journeys.

This guide will help you pick out the perfect amount of layers for your child while also making sure that it does not hinder the security of their straps.

This post shared by The Car Seat Lady, Alisa Baer, a paediatrician and car seat safety expert, shows how you can keep your little one super cosy without putting them at risk.

Instead of putting on a bulky coat or snowsuit instead layer them up. You can use your own judgement on how many layers you will need as some parts of the country are colder than others and you also don’t want them to be too warm and uncomfortable on long car journeys.

Unfortunately, car collisions do happen and when they do we want to make sure that our family are as protected against harm as possible.
