“A tough road”- Christina Applegate diagnosed with multiple sclerosis

The 49-year-old actress shared the news on social media.

Christina Applegate has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The Dead to Me actress shared her diagnosis with her followers on Twitter.

She wrote: “Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.

“It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it.”

She added: “As one of my friends that has MS said ‘we wake up and take the indicated action’. And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo”

Multple sclerosis is a chronic condition that affects the central nervous system and causes inflammation and temporary lesions. These lesions can result in difficulties for the brain in sending signals to the rest of the body.

There is no known cure for MS, but there are treatments available to manage symtoms.

Throughout her career, Applegate, who is 49, has enjoyed major success as a TV actress with roles in Married…with Children, Jesse, Friends and Samantha Who.

Outside of TV, Applegate has performed on stage and in film. She received a Tony nomination for her performance in the Broadway production of Sweet Charity, and has appeared in a number of major Hollywood films including Anchorman, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, Hall Pass, The Big Hit and Bad Moms.
