TikTok creator and Physical Therapist Dr Alicia Jeffrey Thomas has answered countless women’s prayers by demonstrating some easy stretches than can really help.

The clip has already racked up more than 1.2 million views online – and rightly so.

In the video titled “some of my go-to’s”, Alicia shows how to do some common yoga poses and breathing techniques – including child’s pose, pigeon pose, and cat/cow.

Naturally, viewers flooded the comments with their gratitude.

“Child’s pose hits so different during a bad cramp!” one person wrote.

“Perfect timing! I’ve just started my period,” another said.

“This was the best thing ever.” a third added.

“Where were these when I fainted from period pain?” another asked.

Others were shocked to realise that their body naturally gravitates towards these movements when cramps strike.

“I love that I instinctively have always known to do child’s pose and cat/cow. Looking forward to adding the others,” one person said.

“”I’ve actually fallen asleep in child’s pose during bad night cramps,” another wrote.

In the comments, Dr Alicia reminded viewers that while mild cramping is normal, severe period pain is not – regardless of what society might lead us to believe.

She encouraged any of her followers who may be suffering from very bad pain to seek out medical information or make an appointment with their doctor as they could have endometriosis.

Dr Alicia also shares a wide range of useful content on her TikTok including exercises to relieve constipation, train your bladder and strengthen pelvic-floor muscles.
