This bride fired ALL her bridesmaids for bad behaviour (and banned them from her wedding)

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Getting married is a stressful business, but one bride has turned to the internet for advice after she banned all her bridesmaids from her wedding after an argument.

The distraught bride-to-be took to Reddit, explaining that she had expected her three closest friends to take part in the planning process, despite acknowledging that she knew they were ‘kind of flaky’.

The 21-year-old said she was disappointed when they didn’t make an appearance at her 18th birthday party, but decided to give them another chance when she tied the knot.

Unsurprisingly, they fell at the first hurdle.

“My friends haven’t really changed their ways. I tried to get them to come to an engagement party, but only my fiancé’s friends showed up.” the devastated bride told Reddit.

“I tried to get them to throw me a bridal shower, but they didn’t, and my mother and aunts ended up being the ones to throw it.

“I tried to get them to come to my bachelorette party, but my sister/maid-of-honor told me that they weren’t really communicating with her on it. Which is twice as heart-breaking because they are bride’s maids.”

‘I’ll take you off the invitations’

When they didn’t turn up to go dress shopping, one cancelling an hour beforehand, the furious bride doled out the ultimate punishment:

“I sent them a message in our group chat basically saying “since you don’t seem to care, I’ll take you off the invitations.’]

Now. however, after taking some time out to consider the situation, she’s having second thoughts:

“After a couple of days of them freaking out over text and me not answering their texts, I cooled down and realised that I had basically un-invited my only friends from my wedding.”

The bride asked if she had gone too far in revoking wedding invitations from her three closest friends, with many readers telling her she had done the right thing:

“I don’t think you un-invited your friends because it doesn’t really seem like they were your friends, to begin with,” says GetLohh.

JadenSmithinHitch added: “They have fallen through so many times, I support your instinctual decision to un-invite them. Can you imagine getting your hopes up again and having them ditch you on your wedding day?”

What do you think, should she row back on the bridesmaid ban or stick to her guns and risk being known as the ultimate Bridezilla?
