Apparently, this is how much ‘me time’ parents actually get every day

What do you think of this?

Parents get just 32 minutes to themselves a day, according to a study.

The New York Post report that a study into the day-to-day lives of 2,000 mums and dads found that they get slightly more than half an hour to themselves (once their work and parenting duties are otherwise taken care of).

The average parent admitted that they hide from their children four times a week to get some space, with 32 per cent of parents saying that they don’t stop ‘working’ (i.e.: job and parenting duties)  until 8pm – at least.

The research, conducted by American meal delivery service Munchery, found that full-time working parents spent an average of 18 hours a week directly taking care of their kids.

And a further 24 per cent of parents spend more than 30 hours a week directly taking care of their kids.

Parents take six car journeys a week to bring their kids to school, as well as other various other activities – and there’s a further five car trips to the grocery store per week.

Adding in the study’s findings that their kids act out and misbehave an average of five times a week…well, it’s making the idea of free time that much more elusive.
