Is your toddler a bad sleeper? This easy hack is about to make life easier

Trine Jensen-Burke

toddler sleep trick

Ah, toddlers. They are such unpredictable little creatures, aren’t they?!

They can be tricky with clothes (sometimes they like to wear them, sometimes they act feral and prefer to be nude), tricky with food (liked porridge yesterday, HATE it today), and they can be so, so tricky when it comes to sleep.

But if you have a toddler who is having all sorts of objections to bedtime, you might want to give this GENIUS trick a try (I have tested it, and it totally works – like with at least 80 percent success rate. And with toddlers, that’s pretty much as good as it is ever going to get.)

Want your toddler to get tired? Give him a banana.

That’s it. Job done.

And before you think I’m nuts, hear me out; bananas are in fact CRAZY effective when it comes to making you feel sleepy. This little magic fruit is practically a sleep remedy.

One banana contains:

  • Magnesium 34 mg – Natural muscle relaxer
  • Potassium 450 mg – Natural muscle relaxer
  • Melatonin (Albeit a tiny amount)
  • Seratonin

It could be as easy as incorporating a banana into the last meal of the day, as we now do, and my two-year-old (albeit still a total wild child) absolutely sleeps better and seems to be having a more restful sleep after we started with the banana trick.

It might not work as well for everybody (every child is different blah-blah), but seriously; don’t knock this one until you have tried it.

Struggle to fall asleep yourself? Why not have a banana too??
