It’s such a unique name.
Aoibhín Garrihy and her husband John Burke welcomed their first child, a baby girl at the end of June and have since been sharing beautiful pictures of their little one.
The couple kept her name a secret for a while until proud father John shared another sweet post, revealing that their daughter is named Hanorah.
And now, speaking to Evoke, Aoibhín revealed why she chose the name: “I first came across the name after an artist from Dingle painted us a picture of the sea for our wedding.”
However, she then found out that the name goes back through generations in both her and John’s family.
“My great granny was Hanorah and John’s granny and great granny was also Hanorah but all of them went by shortened names like Nora or Noni,” she explained. “We don’t want to shorten it. We love the full name.”
The whole Garrihy family have been doting over the new arrival, with Doireann and Ailbhe sharing picture after picture on social media.
Hanorah is certainly loved by the entire family!
