Channel 4 announces a Come Dine With Me spin off but with a brand new twist

Ellen Fitzpatrick

The reboot we needed.

Come Dine With Me is one of those shows that we could sit and binge for hours (or days) on end and never once get bored of it.

And knowing how much love the original show gets, it’s no surprise Channel 4 has decided to launch a spin-off series but this it features professional chefs and restaurateurs.

Each episode will see three local restaurants, each represented by a partnership of two, like the owner and head chef, where they will have to have a three-course dinner party and compete against other established dining spots.

They will each be fighting to win a cash prize that is to be shared among the staff and will also be named the best of their town, county or city.

Each dinner party will be held during normal opening hours so the competing restaurants will get a taste of the atmosphere, food and quality of service.

They will then give the restaurant a score out of 20, similar to the original show.

And the best part? Narrator Dave Lamb is also returning and with professionals on board, we can only imagine his jokes will be even better.

Jo Street, Channel 4’s head of daytime and features, said: “Come Dine With Me continues to be one of Channel 4’s best loved programmes with many memorable dinners served all over the UK in over 2,000 episodes.

“CDWM: The Professionals promises to really raise the stakes and we’re delighted to dish up this new extension on Channel 4 in 2022 to complement existing favourites Come Dine With Me and Couples Come Dine With Me.”

Simone Haywood from production studio MultiStory Media added: “Come Dine With Me: The Professionals pays homage to one of the nation’s most-loved industries.”
