She shared that she’s never been more grateful to be with her family.

The Saturdays singer Mollie King has opened up about the “mixed emotions” she felt this Christmas.

Mollie and her partner Stuart Broad recently welcomed their first child, but shortly after the baby girl was born, Mollie’s father Stephen passed away.

On Instagram, Mollie shared that her first Christmas as a mum was a bit “mixed” due to the eventful year she has had.

The singer posted a series of photos with her daughter Annabella, as well as her nephews on Christmas morning. In the caption, she shared that she was feeling “grateful” to be with her family.

She penned: “This year, more than ever, I’ve been so grateful to be surrounded by my family at Christmas time.

“For me it’s been mixed emotions heading up to Christmas Day as I’ve feared all of us sitting down for lunch and having one chair less without our Pops at the table.

“I know I’m not the only one who will be missing a loved one this Christmas and my heart goes out to anyone who’s also going through this.

“I’ve kept reminding myself how lucky I am to be surrounded by so many of the people I love and without a doubt the constant chatter from the little ones, seeing Annabella laugh for the first time, countryside walks and Home Alone on repeat made sure we all created more special memories, and most importantly, that my little girl’s Christmas was magical, just as it should be.”

She then thanked her mum for ensuring that the whole family could be together at Christmas, and sent “so much love” to anyone going through a similar experience.

Mollie had shared perviously that her father got to meet his granddaughter shortly before his death.
