Netflix reveals ‘You’ return date as well as Joe and Love’s baby name

Laura Grainger

Hello, You

A due date is always something we await with bated breath.

And now, we finally know the date that Joe Goldberg’s little bundle of joy will be arriving.

Yep, Netflix has finally released a teaser for the highly-anticipated third season of its hit series You, and oh baby, does it look like we’re in for a treat.

After season two’s cliffhanger ending, which saw Joe and his (fellow murderer) pregnant girlfriend move in beside yet another mysterious woman Joe takes an interest in, season three was already eagerly awaited. Unfortunately for us viewers, production of the season was halted due to the pandemic, so we haven’t had new episodes since season two began streaming in December 2019.

Our wait is almost over though, as Netflix has revealed the latest instalment will be available to stream on October 15 of this year.

In the trailer, it’s also revealed that Joe and his girlfriend, Love Quinn, are having a baby boy as Joe spends the duration of the trailer debating his son’s name and future.

The clip sees someone baking a cake to Joe’s typically pass-remarkable narration.

“People these days will name their kids anything to get attention,” he begins.

“Despite your mother’s background and your Glamma’s determination to refer to you as Forty reincarnated, I know better.”

In case you forgot, ‘Forty’ refers to Love’s twin brother, who died at the end of season two after discovering Joe’s serial killer secret.

“A boy is not what we expected and I would be lying if I said the thought of a mini-me was purely exciting and not without…challenges,” Joe continues.

“Let’s just say I’m hoping you’ll do as I say and not as I do. But for you, I can change, I’ll be a man you look up to. A man you’ll be proud to call Dad.”

Oh, Joe, this is all sounding terribly familiar, and last time the attempts at changing didn’t exactly go to plan.

He goes on: “So, what to call you? A name that’s strong but not intimidating. Classic but not basic. Literary, of course, because you’ll grow up in a house full of books.

“Henry, choosing your name is the first of a lifetime of decisions I’ll make to give you the best life possible to protect you, to shape who you will become.

“Who are you going to be, Henry?” he asks ominously as a cut slice of cake confirms the return date.

We can’t wait to see how Joe balances his newfound daddy duties alongside his killer tendencies. Or how he balances his new obsession with his neighbour alongside Love’s obsession with him.

We’ll see You in October, Henry!
