These Cute Chocolate Mug Cakes Take Less Than 5 Minutes to Make
We love the idea of baking up delights in the kitchen but it can be difficult to find the time (and keep those crazy kids entertained).
But that’s exactly where this recipe from celebrity chef and Whirlpool brand ambassador Catherine Fulvio comes in!
Her recipe for Chocolate Mug Cakes with a Vanilla and Orange Mascarpone Topping can be created in less than 5 minutes.
The super simple recipe, which is perfect for this coming Mother’s Day, makes 2 small mugs or cups.
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 3 tbsp caster sugar
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp rapeseed oil
- ¼ tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 tbsp chocolate drops
For the topping:
- ½ tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 tbsp icing sugar
- 2 tbsp mascarpone
- 1 orange, zest
1. Place the plain flour, caster sugar and coco powder into a medium bowl. Mix in the egg, milk and rapeseed oil and vanilla bean paste with a whisk.
2. Divide between the 2 small mugs or cups. Push 1 tbsp of chocolate drops into each mug.
3. To cook, microwave in the mug for 1 minute on high (750watts microwave).
4. Allow to cool for 2 minutes before serving it with the topping. Repeat the cooking process for the other chocolate mug.
Serving suggestion: Serve with ginger and orange segments.
