2019 is here.
Which means New Year's resolutions, good intentions, and new beginnings. And many have decided that this is finally the year that they're going to bite the bullet and stop smoking for good.
Does this sound like you? Sure, it's a tough resolution but you can do it! And we're here to help. We've teamed up with NiQuitin and are running our Quit to Fit campaign to help you quit smoking. The campaign encourages people to swap the cigarettes for physical activities and to complete various physical challenges over the course of 10 weeks.
The idea behind this is to mix up your usual routine and distract you with other things to help get you over that first 10-week hump. Quit to Fit encourages fitness and physical well-being and helps you to switch those cigarette cravings for exercise cravings.
14 people - seven groups of two - will be chosen to be the face of the campaign. So if you know someone else who wants to go smoke free but is finding it hard to take those first steps, team up and put your names down. Whether it's your spouse, a sibling, a parent, or just a friend from work, it'll be great having someone beside you working towards the same goal. If the going gets tough you'll be be there to encourage and support each other.
The chosen teams will be given help and advice on quitting and will be included in weekly physical challenges and given weekly treats (see, it's not all hard work!). They will also be expected to track their progress through weekly Instagram and Twitter updates.
And now for the best part - at the end of the ten weeks, one team will be picked as winners and treated to a delightful fitness holiday worth €2000. Hurrah! What a perfect reward for making it through those weeks smoke free.
To take part in the campaign, you will need to be available for V02 testing on Saturday, February 9, in Dublin.
