EastEnders star Shane Richie reveals he’s “literally skint”

'You save money for a rainy day but you don't expect the rainy day to last six months.'

EastEnders actor Shane Richie recently revealed in an interview how he is basically broke due to Covid. Known best for his role as Alfie Moon, Richie spoke about how he has almost no money left after having to break into his savings to survive. The actor was set to go on tour as well as taking part in a TV series and stage performances over Christmas. Unfortunately due to the pandemic all of Richie's work was cancelled for the year and now the soap opera star says he's having to borrow money to get by;

"And now I am literally skint! You save money for a rainy day but you don't expect the rainy day to last six months. Thankfully I've been able to borrow money from mates, my family and the bank and my wife is now very happy we can finally pay off the credit card!"

  Richie is now set to appear on reality TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here which begins on ITV on November 15.
