‘Hey folks. Good news’ Tom Hanks releases update one week on from coronavirus diagnosis

Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been released from hospital.

Tom Hanks has issued an update on his condition one week after he and his wife Rita Wilson were diagnosed with Covid-19 while in Australia.

Hanks and Wilson have both been released from hospital and in a lengthy Instagram post, the iconic actor said his coronavirus symptoms are the same but that they are both doing their best to keep their spirits up.

Now in self-isolation, the 63-year-old said that he now has “no fever, but the blahs.”

His message in full reads: “Hey folks. Good News: One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch.

“Bad news: My wife Rita Wilson has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points. But I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick. I travelled here with a typewriter, one I used to love. We are all in this together. Flatten the curve. Hanx.”
