It’s the end of May, guys. And you know what that means – it’s the last Late Late Show of the season.
The series has played a bit of a blinder during the coronavirus pandemic, bringing us necessary information to keep ourselves safe, a decent selection of Zoom interviews, and Paul Mescal.
Tomorrow night (May 29), the current series of the Late Late comes to an end – but don’t worry, because they’re going out with a bang.
In an interview that is sure to be as heartwarming and enjoyable as it is emotive, Ryan will be chatting to president of Ireland Michael D Higgins.
He’ll be catching up with Miggeldy from his back garden in Arás an Uachtaráin, discussing life during coronavirus, the resilience of the country, and where we go from here.
But that’s not all – Ryan will also be catching up with none other than Saoirse Ronan and Colin Farrell too – as well as members of the frontline to say thank you for all of their hard work thus far.
Speaking on his radio show this morning, Tubridy said that going forward, the series will need to adapt to the inevitable restrictions that will still be in place later this year.
“I’m sure you could do with an old break from us. And we’ll just regroup is what we’re going to do,” he said.
“We’re going to have to reconfigure, or at least look at, how the show’s going to work from September onwards and in terms of the change and the shape.
“When you think of it, we came in last September with our frontline services outside being celebrated, and I keep saying little did we know how enormously important they would become.”
The Late Late Show airs Friday night at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
