We’re going all out.
After two years of staying home for St. Patrick’s Day, with no parades or no garden parties and no real craic whatsoever, this year, we have out national holiday back – and boy, are we making up for lost time.
And as luck would have it, it is looking like the weather is going to be on our side too, with a mini heatwave reported for the long weekend.

1. St. Patrick’s Day Colin the Caterpillar
The cult favourite cake from M&S has been transformed into a Paddy’s Day mascot – and we are here for it.
The Colin cake itself remains the same with its signature chocolate sponge, buttercream swirls and Colin’s famous white chocolate face, but his exterior is looking very Irish indeed, with shamrocks, a Leprechaun hat and green and white sprinkles to match.
“In an M&S first, we’re SUPER excited to announce the launch of our new-look Colin the Caterpillar cake,” a spokesperson for the supermarket said.

2. Krispy Kreme Limited Edition St. Patrick’s Day doughnuts
We are definitively adding these to cart ahead of tomorrow! Krispy Kreme always comes up trumpf for special occasions, and this St. Patrick’s Day is no different.
With the new limited edition treats hitting shelves earlier this week, we are finding it hard to chose between the following selection: The Leprechaun (€3.15) – filled with mint brownie batter, hand dipped in icing and topped with a joyful Leprechaun edible plaque. Or how about the Over The Rainbow (€2.85) – ring doughnut hand dipped in chocolatey icing and finished with a colourful kreme & gold sugar crystals. Or lastly, the Lucky Sprinkles (€2.65) – signature ring doughnut hand dipped in green icing and colourful sprinkles.
