Brace Yourselves: It’s The Deep-fried Oreo Cookie!

Sharyn Hayden

I know, it’s almost cruel to mention a deep-fried Oreo at the end of January, right when the struggle to keep the diet up is at it’s weakest.

If you are trying to stay good, you could technically wait until tomorrow to make them, because that’s February innit?!

These are an especially delicious treat because the Oreo melts inside the batter so you get a lovely chocolate and cream goo in the middle – swoon.

Here’s how to make them:

1. Purchase a couple of packets of your favourite Oreo cookies (there is more than just one flavour, you know!)

2. Make pancake batter (4oz plain flour, pinch of salt, two eggs 200mls milk mixed with 75ml water
and 2oz butter)

3. Dip Oreos into the batter, covering completely

4. Deep-fry until crisp and golden brown on the outside

5. Leave to cool slightly on a sheet of kitchen paper

6. Dust with icing sugar

7. Scoff and impress everyone who gets to try one too!
