The reason for the price hike is due to the shortage of hazelnuts. According to The Mirror, there was a poor harvest in Turkey which resulted in less being produced.
Some farmers have no hazelnuts while others are holding on to theirs to make a bigger profit.
Hazelnuts aren't the only nut affected this year, with supplies of cashews and peanuts dropping due to poor weather conditions.
Our advice? Stockpile while you can. It's going to be a long winter and we may not survive it without our weekly Nutella coffee, brownies and cake.
