Model and food blogger Rozanna Purcell has jumped on board with Temple Street Hospital, opening up her recipe book to support their Great Irish Bake campaign.
“Perhaps the most perfect snack that ever did exist is the protein ball, bliss ball, raw ball whatever you call them they really are all the same thing!” she says of this recipe. Here’s how to make them…
JAFFA BALLS
*Makes 10
- 200g almonds
- 7 Medjool dates – (available in Tesco, Dunnes, Aldi, Lidl, Supervalu and all health stores)
- 4 tbsp cacao powder
- Juice and zest of a small orange – Save a little zest for decoration
- *Optional 20g dark chocolate for topping
METHOD
- Blend all together.
- Roll into balls.
- Pop in the freezer/fridge for a couple of minutes to let hearken a little before decorating.
- Melt the dark chocolate and dip the top of the ball into it and spindle on some zest. Place back in the fridge.
- Keep refrigerated. Lasts seven days
