Drooling! You can buy a Rock Shandy milkshake in Insomnia

Insomnia Coffee has just answered our prayers, they've just released a whole range of new of ice creams, sundaes and all that good stuff. The brand has decided to put their "expertise in exciting Irish tastebuds to good use" with their latest summer range, and it looks unreal. The new menu in stores includes their own take on classics, like the Insomnia Coke Float with McDaid’s Irish Cola, Rock Shandy Milkshake, Insomnia Ice cream Sundaes with Nutella or Kinder Bueno and the Insomnia Affogato. These treats are in selected stores nationwide from this week, and just reading them is making us drool. Speaking on the launch, Harry O Kelly, CEO said: "We are celebrating 25 years in business this year and we are delighted to mark this occasion by launching our brand new ice-cream range – inspired by the flavours we all love. Our aim is to always give our customers an amazing level of choice when they come in-store. We’re excited for everyone to try the new menu and discover their favourite flavour this summer." Insomnia has teamed up with Dairyglen Ice-Cream, a locally sourced Irish company based in Bray. So let's get into exactly what they have on offer. When it comes to milkshakes, they have a classic chocolate milkshake topped with cream, chocolate sauce and flakes. The Rock Shandy Milkshake is topped with whipped cream & zesty tangerine sauce while the Salted Caramel Latte is exactly what it says on the tin, a mix of espresso, vanilla ice-cream, caramel syrup, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with caramel sauce. You can also create your own, choosing from brownie, muffin, cookie or rocky road. All milkshakes are served in retro milkshake glasses or mason jars and are retailing from €4.75. When it comes to the sundaes, the Insomnia Coke Float with McDaid’s Irish Cola is as Irish as it gets, the Affogato (real Irish dairy Ice-cream drenched with Insomnia’s signature espresso) and then classic favourites like the Sundae with Nutella or Sundae with Kinder Bueno, retailing from €3.50. Of course, they have whipped ice cream, served with a choice of toppings which include Smarties, Oreos or chocolate buttons, retailing from €2.50.
