Stop everything: A chip restaurant is opening in London

Katie Mythen-Lynch

In what we can all immediately agree is the most important news story of the month so far, a restaurant dedicated entirely to chips is set to open in London this autumn.

Hot on the heels of Cereal Killers (the cereal-only café, which opened in the UK last year and has since expanded to a second location), and fresh, it seems, from at least one dream had by yours truly, Come Fry With Me will boast a menu packed with decadent tributes to the humble potato, many with a luxe twist.

Like the look of our fries? Try them at the @foodiesfestival happening on Clapham Common 24, 25 & 26 July #comefry

There’ll be no carb counters welcome around here. Oh no. Fry fiends will be able to choose from triple-cooked chips served skinny, gastro or skin-on. The next step is to choose a flavour or topping from a mouthwatering list of options that includes rosemary and garlic, truffle and Parmesan duck fat, chile con carne and stilton and steak.

Health fans can plump for the Medley of Fries (parsnip, carrot and courgette) but make sure someone orders the Guinness Battered Chips so you can steal a taste.

And leave room for dessert: The house specialty for Mile Fry Club members is Cinnamon Sweet Potato Skinny Fries served with a choice of vanilla icing, dark chocolate or peanut butter dip.

Flights booked already.
